About Power Potential Tutoring

Hi there, I'm Nancy Wohnoutka, and I'm excited you're here!

As the founder of Power Potential Tutoring, I help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and reach their full potential through personalized tutoring support and encouragement.

Reading is the foundation of every subject taught in school, yet I know firsthand that many students struggle in silence—hiding their difficulties out of embarrassment. I work closely with students who have required intervention, including those who missed the critical window for early support. As students grow older, their reading challenges often lead to frustration, low motivation, and discouragement that affect their overall academic experience.

I bring with me the skills, experience, and empathy needed to reach these readers where they are. My approach is grounded in building trust, applying targeted strategies, and celebrating progress—no matter how small—to help each student find success and regain confidence in their learning journey.

While my background is rooted in literacy, I offer tutoring across various subjects. Whether your child needs help with reading, writing, math, or general academic skills, I’m here to guide them with patience, empathy, and instruction tailored to their individual needs.

Thank you for stopping by. I’d love to support your child’s learning journey — wherever they need a little extra confidence and care.

About Me

I live in Cottage Grove, Minnesota with my husband, and we’re proud parents of two college-aged sons. Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading a good book, and being on or near the water whenever I can.

Over the years, I’ve seen how struggles in school, especially with reading, can affect a student’s confidence. I started Power Potential Tutoring because I believe in giving students the individual attention they need to feel capable, supported, and empowered in their learning. Watching that shift happen, when a student starts to believe in themselves, is what drives everything I do.
